Dear Daddy

I’m thinking bout you Daddy,

Memories that make me smile.

I wish that I could see you,

For just a little while.

My heart’s still filled with yearning,

Silent tears will sometimes flow.

A million things I ache to say,

A whisper says you know.

~

I hope today’s a party,

Celebrating Father’s Day.

With a glistening guitar,

I hope the angels hear you play.

May on streets of gold they dance,

While you’re singing in the sky.

I hope to hear the laughter,

From your party way up high.

~

God took you home to paradise,

A celestial view that’s bright.

And as down here, you’re treasured,

In our Father’s sight.

I know above you’re happy,

In heaven where you are,

And one day I will hug you,

On streets of gold afar.

Dedicated to my adopted Daddy, who loved a child by choice, not obligation and changed her life forever. I love you more than words.

Happy Father’s Day to every loving Daddy out there! I hope your day is filled with lots of love and laughter.

All my love,

~Kat

Someone Broken Like Me In days long ago, My love used to flow. I would gift it away, A high cost to pay. Life’s beaten me down. I’m broken and bound. Afraid to be hurt, I’m braced and alert. ~ I’m not

I am from a state of sadness, an era of abuse, and eyes filled with fear. I’ve journeyed to forgiveness, a state of happiness, and vision that is clear. I’ve turmoiled in anger, a state of regret, and
