You cannot know the flavor, of a food just by its look.
You cannot know the words, by the cover of a book.
You cannot know a person, by who they seem to be.
Knowing their whole story, and what they do is key.
I’ve seen an addict come to Jesus, and bring people into church.
I’ve seen a Christian in the pew, while outside it’s drugs they search.
I’ve seen a sinner lend a hand, to another in their shoes.
I’ve seen a preacher of sobriety, indulge themselves in booze.
I’ve seen a poor man give a dollar, to a rich man with a scam.
I’ve heard lies from someone honest, who was suited up in glam.
I’ve seen upstanding citizens, go and break the law.
I’ve met a biker with tattoos, who’s kindness had no flaw.
I met a mother who’s abusive, who head the PTA.
I’ve known a loving mother, who was shunned because she’s gay.
Looks can be deceiving, you must see past your first glance.
It should never be a look, that denies someone a chance.
A present can be grand, without wrapping and a bow.
A person can surprise you, from what you think you know.
All my love,
