Memorial Day
America’s Brave
The Star-Spangled Banner,
Wafts on wind that will blow.
Singing praises to hero’s,
Resting row after row.
Wine colored poppies,
Our blood that was spilt.
And new life that blossoms,
In freedom we’ve built.
Bouquet’s of white roses,
Deep love that was lost.
Pure love for our country,
That came with a cost.
A gently lain iris,
A soft shade of blue.
Gifts us new hope,
From faith that was true.
And standing its post,
A banner will wave,
Saluting our fallen,
America’s brave.
A Fallen Hero
A hero has fallen,
A loved one will weep.
May gently we lay him,
For his restful sleep.
He leapt to a calling,
Our country to save.
He stood in formation,
Among all our brave.
He charged into battle,
A victorious roar.
He’s gone where our soldiers,
Are troubled no more.
No riches were promised,
He fought for your life.
He stands beside Jesus,
No more worldly strife.
Farewell faithful soldier,
A promise we’ll keep.
A vow of remembrance,
In words that run deep.
Whether you are out on the water, BBQing, or relaxing at home today. I pray you ponder a moment of gratitude to our fallen hero’s.
All my love,
~Kat
