Sweet Child of Mine

Did you ask for our family?

Sweet child of mine.

The same way I prayed for you?

Did you fear for this world?

Sweet child of mine.

I fear for you in it too.

Was it hard to let go?

Sweet child of mine.

His tight grip that held your hand?

Is my grip a comfort?

Sweet child of mine.

Down here, far from angel land.

Please listen intently,

Sweet child of mine.

You’re a gift and a precious loan.

I’ll always protect you,

Sweet child of mine.

Long after you’re safely grown.

You’re a small bit of heaven,

Sweet child of mine.

One day He will call you home.

I’ll teach and I’ll guide you,

Sweet child of mine.

On this journey, you will not roam.

I’ll help you climb mountains,

Sweet child of mine.

And swim across oceans you face.

I’ll teach you to dream,

Sweet child of mine.

This life will be your play-place.

Cry on my shoulder,

Sweet child of mine.

Coo till you learn to speak.

I’ll fight every battle,

Sweet child of mine.

The moments in life you’re weak.

I’ll love you forever,

Sweet child of mine.

Your whole life my baby you’ll be.

I’ll cherish your presence,

Sweet child of mine.

For God sent you down here to me.

My sister cradled her second daughter this week. Welcome to the world beautiful Elara Jade, my heart aches to hold you. You my love, are a precious gift and cherished loan from God, I’m thankful He chose my beautiful sister to love you in this life. You will be loved so much by your Aunts too, who eagerly await the moment we can come cover your sweet face with kisses.

All my love, advice, imagination, and guidance forever,

~Aunt Kat

In solitude, I’ve become strong. There is no place, where I belong. I’m working toward a future goal. A moment where I will be whole. It’s hard to make it on my own, Though I do best here, all alone.

Someone Broken Like Me In days long ago, My love used to flow. I would gift it away, A high cost to pay. Life’s beaten me down. I’m broken and bound. Afraid to be hurt, I’m braced and alert. ~ I’m not

I am from a state of sadness, an era of abuse, and eyes filled with fear. I’ve journeyed to forgiveness, a state of happiness, and vision that is clear. I’ve turmoiled in anger, a state of regret, and
