The Angel’s Lullaby
(Sung to the tune of, “On top of spaghetti”. Slow down the melody)
There’s an angel above us, who lives in the sky.
She pulls out a blanket, turning day into night.
She sprinkles the Stars out,
And turns on moonlight.
She’s watching our babies,
With soft keen eyesight.
She comes down to see them,
From her place up high.
She stands in their bedroom,
Singing this lullaby.
Coyotes stop howling,
Crickets go to sleep.
My babies are dreaming,
On a pillow that’s deep.
Do not try and wake them,
Their day has been long,
I’ll lull them to sleep now,
With this angels song.
She flies to their windows,
And visits each crib.
She sprinkles her magic,
And tickles each rib.
She’s gifting them sweet dreams,
Before flying high,
She kisses her babies,
And sings this lullaby.
Coyotes stop howling,
Crickets go to sleep.
My babies are dreaming,
On a pillow that’s deep.
Do not try and wake them,
Their day has been long,
I’ll lull them to sleep now,
With this angels song.
Do not try and catch her,
She’s smart and she’s quick.
The rules she abides by,
Evading a trick.
She smiles as she watches,
The things that you do.
She holds back her urges,
To jump and say, “boo!”
She shrinks really small down,
Waiting while you lie,
She’s an angel who’s patient,
To sing her lullaby.
Coyotes stop howling,
Crickets go to sleep.
My babies are dreaming,
On a pillow that’s deep.
Do not wake my loved ones,
Their day has been long,
I’ll lull them to sleep now,
With an angels song.
Dedicated to my babies, my nieces and nephews, and my great nieces and nephews. Just a little side note to my nieces and nephews with babies, I refuse to be “Great Aunt Kat” kay 🤨 I can be, “Aunt Kat” or “Mrs. Kat” or “Hey You” but despite my sprouting white hairs, I shall not be great aunt Kat 🤮😂
All my love,
~Kat
