The Old Man Here
Updated: Apr 9, 2019
Don’t see the old man here,
With these pills not a beer.
Remember way back when,
I said, “Let’s do that again!”
I don’t want you to cry,
On the day that I die.
Don’t see an old man here,
Know: I lived life without fear.
~
Don’t let a tear fall today,
Do not fear for my fate.
Don’t cry on the morrow,
When I see God’s golden gate.
Live life as I did,
Dance to life’s every tune.
Toast to me up above,
As I watch from the moon.
~
Don’t see the old man here,
And let the past disappear.
Reminisce youthful play,
Of nights turned into day.
Please host a party for me,
Solute a spirit who’s free.
Raise commotion I’ll hear,
Know: I’m not an old man up here.
~
Don’t let a tear fall today,
Going home’s not goodbye.
Don’t cry on the morrow,
As I gain my wings to fly.
I’ll miss you most my dear friend,
Recall our time way back when.
Live your life full for me,
Until we meet here again.
~
Don’t see the old man here,
My friend, youth’s drawing near.
Dedicated to the most amazing man.
All my love,
~Kat
